James Young Sings Ulster Party Pieces is the fifth comedy album released by Northern Irish comedian and actor James Young. The album cover features a picture taken by Stanley Matchett of Young busking outside the Ulster Group Theatre. Amongst those Young is seen busking at is his business partner Jack Hudson. Unlike Young's previous albums which featured recordings of sketches from his live shows, this album was a studio recording featuring songs written by and for Young.
James Alexander Young (23 June 1918 – 5 July 1974), better known as Jimmy Young or simply Our Jimmy, was a Northern Irish actor and comedian born in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland and brought up in Belfast. He performed on stage and television. His comedy records sold over a quarter of a million copies. His stage shows are most closely associated with the Group Theatre, where his one man show gained a listing in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest running in the world.

The album is set for release in June, but at the time, this was news to more people than just Young fans. That’s how we knew it was real, says Micah. With Neil, we’ve learned not to expect anything until it’s actually happening. Once it’s in print in the press and he said it, that was the moment where we knew it was for real. Not long afterwards, Young got in touch and said he wanted to cut the album at the historic Teatro theater in Oxnard, California, the exact spot where Willie Nelson recorded his 1998 LP Teatro with producer Daniel Lanois.
Your son plays on Sky Trails and he produced it. I’ve always wondered how that changes the dynamic-if it’s easier or better with a family element, or if it’s a little awkward, too. You almost never see it. There’s almost never a family connection. In my case, James Raymond is a brilliant producer. There ought to be a line of people down the block trying to get him to produce their records. Well, we’re friends, and we like each other’s writing. I think she is one of the most talented young people I have been able to find. What I see as far as protest songs now, it can’t break that bubble of preaching to the people who’re already converted. The people who’re already on the singer’s side. That’s why it needs to be very broad, and very strong.
And he lays into President Bush on it. Neil Young has recorded an anti-war protest album on which he reportedly lashes out at US President George W Bush. The veteran rocker has recorded a track called ‘Impeach The President’, which will appear on his ten-track LP ‘Living With War’, due out later this year.
I love Neil Young and have been listening to his music since the late 60's.
